Scotty Lago is now riding for Matador meat snacks. Matador, which is owned by Jack Link’s, is expanding its presence in the action-sports world through sponsorships of athletes including skater Adam Taylor, events like the 2009 Dew Tour, and Camp Woodward.
Here’s the release:
"I am super excited to be a part of the MATADOR team," said Lago. "It is awesome that MATADOR is psyched on what we are doing in snowboarding."
Lago had a strong 2008-2009 winter season. At the 2009 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo., Lago placed second in Slopestyle. Less than a month later, at the 2009 Winter Dew Tour in Lake Tahoe, Calif., he took third overall in Halfpipe. Lago's season came to a close with a win in the US Open of Snowboarding in Quarterpipe, and a third in Slopestyle, securing him the award for Most Valuable Rider at the US Open of Snowboarding.
"Scotty's fun-loving nature is exactly what the MATADOR brand is all about," said Jeff LeFever director of marketing, Jack Link's Beef Jerky. "With the addition of Scotty, MATADOR now has a presence in winter sports. We look forward to being a part of the snowboard community."
