Questions answered by Brand Manager Marc Vitelli
What are the biggest forces shaping the changes and developments you've made to your boards?
The industry was in desperate need of something fresh, innovative and new, not some recycled technology with a new spin on it. We are initiating this product infiltration by continuing to broaden distribution of the exclusive and patented SIMS® E-Board™ Technology. Also, bringing snowboard production back to Quebec, where SIMS boards were produced back in the mid 80's through the early 90's is a huge story within itself.
To what degree are you emphasizing camber shape and core profiles in your lineup?
Camber is obviously a very important factor when choosing a snowboard. We offer 4 different camber constructions that support a style of riding for everyone. This is emphasized in all product communications and tactics.
Are you cooking up any new materials or construction techniques?
Yes, with production of the E-Board Technology here in North America which requires 3D molds, the possibilities are overwhelming. Also, partnering with North American suppliers provides us with the opportunity to develop advanced and custom techniques.
What themes are you seeing for graphics?
A comprehensive array of graphical themes and colors that appeal to a broad snowboard consumer base. The graphics implemented on the E-Board Technology boards purposely highlight the embedded ergonomic wedges to help draw attention to them.
