OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – San Clemente, CA (December 1, 2008) – Surfrider Foundation announced this week the launch of the RING; a new online giving program that gives its members exclusive perks for donating to protect our oceans, waves and beaches.
The RING incorporates one of the latest trends in giving; micro-donations. For as little as five dollars a month, about the same price as a coffeehouse drink, beach and coastal enthusiasts can join the RING and receive special privileges, benefits and offers not available to Surfrider Foundation's general membership.
As part of their exclusive benefits, RING will members will receive "Pinged," a special monthly e-newsletter filled with stories, interviews and event announcements. RING members will also be automatically entered into monthly drawings for apparel and other cool gear courtesy of Surfrider Foundation and select partners.
"The RING is a community within a community," says Olaf Lohr, Membership Manager for the Surfrider Foundation. "This is the core of activism; where we see our most committed members and activists eventually residing."
