picture-81Snowboarders can now make a trip to the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, previously known as the Vermont Ski Museum.

According to the Washington Post, the museum, located in Stowe, Vermont, is changing its name to acknowledge the importance of snowboarding in its state.

Tom Sequist, the chair of the museum’s board, said that the organization has recognized a need to acknowledge snowboarding’s heritage and said that it always included snowboards in its exhibits.

The museum was founded by Roy Newton of Brandon and opened in Stowe in 2002 to “celebrate the history of alpine and Nordic skiing and snowboarding in Vermont.”
