PRESS RELEASE – Lake Tahoe, Calif. - Join two-time U.S. Olympic snowboarder Elena Hight on her personal journey to the Sochi Olympic Winter Games with the unique vantage offered by Hight Hopes, a six-webisode series debuting on YouTube today. Throughout the winter, viewers can follow Hight's quest to realize her Olympic dreams at youtube.com/ElenaHight.

Elena Hight is one of snowboarding's premier athletes. A 13-year old Hight burst on the scene as the first woman ever to land a 900 (two & one-half rotations) in competition. At 16, as an Olympic rookie, Hight claimed 6th at the Turin Olympiad in snowboard halfpipe; then four years ago, she was disappointed with her 10th place finish in Vancouver.

Now at 24, Hight is at the top of her game and has the podium and gold in her sights. At this year's X Games, Hight landed the FIRST EVER double backside alley-oop rodeo by either man or woman in a halfpipe competition - a feat that has taken women's snowboarding to new levels. This summer, in between daily training in the gym and on mountain, Elena was featured in ESPN The Magazine's Body issue as one of sport's most admired physiques.

With just two months until the world's attention turns to Sochi, Hight now faces her final challenge to be one of the four American women to qualify for the snowboard halfpipe competition. Viewers get a rare chance to join Hight along for the ride as she must not only excel at the final U.S. qualifiers, but also fulfill a steady stream of media obligations and sponsor responsibilities all while living a nomadic life on the road.
