Dear Friends:

World Cup Skateboarding is making some important changes we want you to know about. In short, World Cup Skateboarding has decided to terminate its relationship with Maloof Money Cup, effective immediately.

WCS began over 18 years ago with a single goal in mind: to establish a consistent forum for skateboarding that would allow it to develop to its full potential, giving skaters and others who are passionate about skateboarding a place to cultivate the sport. We are proud of the successes WCS has had – in 2011 alone WCS has had 27 events in the U.S. and abroad – and we are always looking for what we can do next to bring skateboarding to others and help it develop.

As many of you know, we have been involved with the Maloof Money Cup since its inception. As the MMC has evolved, so had our participation in it. We are proud of the work we’ve done with MMC and what we’ve accomplished. That said, after reflecting on WCS’ goals and vision for skateboarding in the U.S. and abroad, we have come to the conclusion that we must step away from MMC to focus our skills and energy to other skateboarding events. Skateboarding is still growing and we have decided that we need to free our time and resources to nurture other events to meet our goals.

We have known many of you since before we started WCS, and we want to thank you for your continued friendship and support. We write to assure you that we will continue to do what we’ve always done – put on great skateboarding competitions nationally and internationally – and that we look forward to working with you in the future.
