World of X Games Features Rip Curl Pro Bells

World of X Games TUNE IN ALERT: WSL Surfing Stop No. 2 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach | Saturday, April 16

World of X Games will air this Saturday, April 16 on WSL Surfing Stop No. 2 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET/ 10:30 a.m. PT on ABC.

As you likely watched, the second stop on the World Surf League (Samsung Galaxy Championship) Tour headed to Bells Beach in Victoria, Australia. Once a strictly counterculture sport, surf has definitely begun its emergence into the mainstream. Now, even ABC and ESPN is giving this event coverage on their World of X Games show. You can see how mainstream, primetime covers the world's longest-running surf competition held every Easter day weekend  since 1961.

Every event winner is awarded the prestigious "Bell" trophy that 2015 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach champion Mick Fanning has won four times. While Fanning's unprecedented fifth Bells crown was out of reach, Matt Wilkinson solidified his shot for the World Title by securing his second WSL win in a row this season. Tune-in this Saturday to watch the finals day showdown featuring athletes including Wilkinson, Fanning and Jordy Smith who finished third on the 2015 WSL Championship Tour.
