Questions answered by Director of Snowboard Hardgoods, Mike Fox

What are the biggest forces shaping the changes and developments you've made to your boards?

Rider needs have always been the driving force behind DC Snowboards and will continue to be. Through meeting the needs of our team we continue to progress our boards.

To what degree are you emphasizing camber shape in your lineup?

It's the most important feature by far. Our catalog and board line up is organized by camber story as opposed to the old way of presenting a line by price. DC features multiple levels of our Anticamber, Traditional Camber, our Lock and Load Camber and our newest development, Microcamber.

Are you cooking up any new materials or construction techniques?

Our biggest material tech story for Winter 13 is our new Fresh Deck topsheet. It's a new wood topsheet that adds life and pop into the board, which gives it that fresh skate deck feel. Unlike other wood top boards it uses a weather treated wood that requires no clear coat or topsheet protection. The look also has a real skate feel with bold graphics screen printed directly onto the wood. Fresh Deck is featured on the Devun and Iikka Pro series, the MLF series and new Mega series that also features Torstein and Biittner Pro boards.

What themes are you seeing for graphics?

Snowboards are seriously the most fun toys on the planet and the graphic should reflect that. Riders are tired of taking things too serious and want something fun. We are also seeing a heavy influence coming from skate graphics.
