Oakley Channel Director for Action Sports Aaron Quigley heads to the beach to share a 60 Second Sell about Oakley’s groundbreaking new Blade Boardshort in its natural environment.
The shorts, which were originally launched in the Australian market to incredibly strong sales at a price tag of $169 AUD, were released in the US market on May 4 and will be hitting O Stores and key retailers with an MSRP of $120.
“The Blade is more focused on the mainstream surfer than your core guy,” explains VP Global AFA Raphael Peck. “It takes a sport approach to boardshorts and adds compression shorts made with similar techniques to Olympic speed suits.”
Featuring a drying time of less than five minutes, a connective system between the compression short and outer baggies, and numerous proprietary technologies, the Blade is definitely one of the most technologically advanced and comfortable pair of boardshorts we’ve worn.
Here’s more on the release party:
As Oakley's surf-athletes and party-goers descended on the Oakley Blade Boardshort Launch Party at The Shore in San Clemente, CA, media filtered in to see the boardshort that demonstrates Oakley's relentless drive to make things better.
Oakley surf shredders, Sebastian Zietz, Billy Stairmand, Adam Melling, Tommy Whitaker and Brent "Brenno" Dorrington, who just won his first competition at the ASP 6-Star O'Neill Coldwater Classic Scotland in mid-April, unwound from competing in the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro at the Oakley Blade Launch Party May 4th.
Full of Blade praise, Tommy Whitaker, quickly declared how killer the boardshorts are, but ultimately wanted to share his gratitude.
"All I have to say is thank you to all of the amazing designers at Oakley that made this unbelievable boardshort. I'm serious. It makes surfing that much more enjoyable in every way. So, for always pushing the limits, creating masterpieces and kicking ass, thank you Oakley."
