CrazyTown To Headline 2002 B4BC

Boarding For Breast Cancer’s (B4BC) 7th AnnualSnowboard + Music Festival is set to rock Sierra-At-Tahoe on April 14th.Confirmed to headline this year’s event is rap-metal band Crazy Town. Dan”The Automator” of Gorillaz fame and emo-rock quintet Sense Field will alsobe among the growing list of performers scheduled to grace the stage toraise awareness and funds for breast cancer.

“What could be better than finishing the winter with some insanesnowboarding in Tahoe while performing at one of the coolest benefits,” saidBrett Epic Mazur of Crazy Town. “We are honored to be a part of the B4BC’sgrowing legacy known for great music, snowboarding and raising money forsuch an important cause.”

“My mom died from breast cancer almost four years ago and it is a horribledisease,” said Sense Field guitarist and producer Chris Evenson. “IfBoarding for Breast Cancer can raise awareness, raise funds and maybeprevent someone else’s mother or daughter or girlfriend from getting thisdisease it’s something we are proud to be a part of.”

The 7th Annual Snowboard + Music Festival will kick off at 8:00 a.m. April14th. Sal Masekela, host of ESPN’s X-Games and X-2day, and Kennedy, formerVJ for MTV, will be on hand as masters of ceremonies announcing the firstbands’ performance before mid-day. From then until the close of the festivalat 6 p.m., attendees can expect bands to rock the slopes throughout the day.The complete lineup will be announced soon.Once again the event will feature exhibitions by professional snowboardersand skiers in both the halfpipe and snowboard park. Athletes attending theevent include 2002 U.S. Olympic Team halfpipe rider and event co-founderShannon Dunn, event co-founder Tina Basich, Michele Taggart, Josh Dirksen,Mikey Basich, and the entire Chorus Snowboards’ team of Janna Meyen, RobertaRodger, Leslee Olson, Tomo Yamakoshi, and Cara Beth Burnside. Otherathletes expected to attend include past attendees Todd Richards, MikeMichalchuk, Tara Dakides, and Shaun Palmer, as well as freeskiers ShaneMcConkey, Aleisha Cline and Olympic Gold Medallist Johnny Mosely.

Boarding for Breast Cancer is a non-profit, youth-focused organizationdevoted to education, awareness and fundraising for breast cancer. B4BC’smission is to raise breast cancer awareness and educate today’s youth aboutthe importance of early cancer detection through good breast healthpractices, and to raise funds for educational and awareness programs. B4BCdoes this through sports, music, art and events including: The Annual B4BCSnowboard + Music Festival, B4BC’s Board-A-Thon Program, The B4BC OutreachProgram, The B4BC Membership Drive and B4BC fund contributions. Since itsinception in 1994, B4BC has raised over $1 million through its events andeducational programs.

B4BC’s Annual Snowboard + Music Festival combines live music frominternationally acclaimed bands such as previous performers, The BeastieBoys (Quasar), Foo Fighters, Linkin Park and Blink 182, along with prosnowboard exhibitions by the world’s top snowboarders. The festivalatmosphere of educational tents and displays provides an interactive montageof breast cancer awareness programs, creating a fun-filled and informativeevent.
