ESPN’s “Without Sports” Campaign Features Izzy Paskowitz

Heralded for its ability to portray the social significance of sports,
ESPN’s award-winning “Without Sports” campaign has returned with a new
spot featuring former pro surfer Izzy Paskowitz and his Surfers Healing
camp for autistic children. The camp was developed more than seven
years ago when he saw the positive effects the ocean had on his own son
who has autism. The title reads, “Without sports, where would we find
ourselves?” Created by Wieden + Kennedy New York, the spot will air on
all ESPN networks and on ABC starting Friday, September 23.

Launched in 2003 as ESPN’s first brand campaign, and winner of a Golden
Lion Award at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes for the
campaign’s “Shelf Ball” and “Nimrods” commercials, “Without Sports”
continues to play off the universal appeal of sports for its unscripted
drama and competition, the notion that sports is synonymous with life
and the time-tested ability of sports to unite people of different
backgrounds and from all corners of the globe.
