Extreme Group Launches Action Sports Programming On Fox Sports Net

-Series Features Top Action Sports Competitions and Programming –

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., March 7, 2002 – Extreme Group, the world’s leading media company in the actions sports sector and parent company of the Extreme Sports Channel, has announced the launch of the hour-long action sports series EX TV, on Fox Sports Net in the U.S.

EX TV launches March 18th at 4 p.m. on Fox Sports Net’s regional sports channels that reach more than 78 million US homes. The series will showcase the action sports lifestyle – featuring top athletes, events, bands and more – and will air each on Monday and Wednesday at 4 p.m. as part of FSN’s “Rush Hour,” the network’s weekday action sports programming block. EX TV will span the worlds of snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, BMX biking, FMX motocross, wakeboarding and other sports. Show titles will include “Boarding Pass,” “XXL,” “High Octane,” Pump,” and “SurfMag,” along with special event-based shows like “US Open Snowboarding,” “World Cup Skateboarding Finals,” and the “Rip Curl Heli Challenge.” EX TV will be repeated each day at 2 a.m., after the initial airing.

“The launch of EX TV on Fox Sports Net is a huge step and we couldn’t have realized this success without the support of our producers, advertisers and the blessing of the action sports community,” said Lloyd Bryan Adams, COO for Extreme Group USA. “We have worked hard here in the U.S. to solicit ideas and build endemic support and consensus; by establishing cooperative relationships we have earned the trust of the community and taken a leading position in the endemic media space. The support has been overwhelming and as a result we have secured the world’s top action sports programming and events.”

“This strategic move will act as a perfect launch pad for the EX brand into the U.S. and is a natural expansion for the Extreme Group, which was founded six years ago,” said Al Gosling, Founder and CEO of Extreme Group. “In May 1999, we launched the Extreme Sports Channel in Europe, and it’s now broadcasting in seven languages across 48 countries.”

The Extreme Group was formed in 1995, with the aim of supplying the world’s broadcasters with quality television programming. Today the company is a fast growing global media group with 1) a rapidly expanding global television channel, 2) an internet business, 3) an international television distribution company, 4) a retail business offering online and mail-order shopping, 5) a branded clothing and equipment company, 6) and a company organizing and staging events. The Extreme Group has offices in the UK, The Netherlands & USA.

The Extreme Sports Channel is a 24-hour sports network that features programs and live events from the action, adventure and alternative sports genres. Delivered via a network of satellites, the channel, initially launched in Amsterdam May 1999, is now broadcasting in 7 languages across 48 countries in Europe and the Middle East, recently culminating in the UK launch on Sky. The Channel intends to expand into North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific during 2002/2003. For more information on Extreme Group, visit .
