First Tony Hawk Skate Shop Grand Opening

Huntington Beach, California– Quiksilver is proud to announce the Grand Opening event of the first of its kind Hawk Skate Shop, in the Westfield Shoppingtown’s Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey.

On Saturday, March 17th, skateboard icon, Tony Hawk, will make a personal appearance at the 1,100 square foot retail store dedicated to the Hawk clothing line, inspired by its namesake. “We are providing kids with an authentic and original skateboarding influenced retail environment,” says Gregg Solomon, Vice President of Quiksilver’s Retail Division, “Tony is very proud of this store and we are thrilled to host his special appearance.”

The festivities begin at 11 AM and include games, food, raffle and prizes provided by Quiksilver, Hawk Clothing, Hawk Shoes, Activision and Jones Soda. A special skate demo featuring Tony Hawk and local pros will take place at a secret location from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Wristbands for entry to the skatepark will be available at the shop during the appearance from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The Hawk Skate Shop is adjacent to the 3,000 square foot Quiksilver Boardriders Club store which features the Quiksilver, Roxy, Alex Goes and Silver Edition brands. Currently there are 23 Quiksilver Boardriders Club stores in the United States that are prominently located in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, and Boston among others.
