ISF Jr. Worlds 2002 In New Zealand

After several months of intense sponsor search and discussions with various partners the New Zealand Snowboard Association, Cardrona Alpine Resort and Sports Impact under the guidance of the International Snowboard Federation are very proud to host the 9th ISF Junior World Snowboard Championships 2002 .

The Championships will be hosted in the lakeside village of Wanaka, New Zealand from the 8 -13th September 2002 with competition starting on the 10th at Cardrona Alpine Resort – about 40 km from Wanaka.

The ISF Junior World Championships will truly deserve the name ‘world’ when they are hosted in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time. New Zealand is proud to welcome all nations and their athletes to prepare for a fantastic time in New Zealand this coming September.

Even though the event is taking place in September it will still count for the current season 2001/ 2002 and the current ISF rules will apply.

The disciplines will be as usual Halfpipe, Parallel GS and Snowboardcross. Eligible for the competition are riders from the following age groups Juniors 16 – 18 (born in 83, 84, 85) Youth 15 and younger (born in 86 or later) from each nation 2 riders YOUTH per men / women and discipline 3 riders JUNIOR per men/ women and discipline which means a maximum of 34 riders per nation.
