Mountain Creek Holds Shop-Employee Event

VERNON, NJ — Shop guys (and girls) get their props on January 18th as Mountain Creek brings back the wildly successful Tour de Creek event for it’s second year. This two-events-in-one day is for shop employees only; and the winning team will earn a trip for four to the Camp of Champions Summer Camp at Whistler-Blackomb for 8 days and 7 nights.

Four-person teams will navigate the four terrain parks, competing against a pre-set rally time, and earning time bonuses for completing tests of skill on the many rails, boxes and features. The format makes it possible for teams to leverage their best talent without all members necessarily being top technical riders.

Last year’s rally generated some real no-holds barred competition on the course, and after some controversy, earned the Princeton Boarding House a trip to the World Ski & Snowboard Fest at Whistler/Blackcomb.

In addition to the rally, the day will be stocked with on-hill photographers vying for the best riders and the best shots. Nearly 1000 shots will be dwindled down by the photographers for a full-on slide show on Friday evening, with the winning photo worth a lifts and lodging trip to the U.S. OPEN at Stratton, VT.

Besides being a cool event, the day is sponsored by more than two dozen reps on a totally non-partisan basis, making this a day for riders, by riders. For shop riders from Buffalo to Vermont, as well as the usual suspects from New Jersey, this is truly a unique day to celebrate all the retail partners in our industry.
