Rad Air Majority Sold To Invision AG

The investment company Invision AG, Zug, took over the majority on the RAD AIR Snowboards AG from the Völkl Sports Holding AG last year already. In the future, Völkl would like to concentrate on the world-wide successful Völkl Snowboard brand, which was introduced three years ago.

Invision has taken on a majority share of RAD AIR, in order to finance the further growth of the new, innovative sales model, as well as the further development of product innovations. In addition, Invision will support the management via marketing and support services as well as a big network.

Invision AG, the former Aureus Private Equity AG, was founded in 1998 by Peter Titz, Metro Manager of many years’ standing. Invision Manager Martin Staub was already newly appointed President of the Board last year, and runs the business together with the experienced snowboard managers and RAD AIR founders Harry Gunz and Paul Gruber. Harry Gunz on the new investors: “With our new strong partner we can realise the ideas for trendsetting new technologies and will also be able to offensively realise the “rad-airports” distribution system, which has been developed in cooperation with exclusive dealers in the core markets Switzerland, Germany and Austria.”

RAD AIR counts among the scene brands from the very start, their legendary Longboards “Tanker” have already reached cult status. At the February Ispo 2002, the new 2002/03 collection comprising 32 boards will be presented in Hall A1, at the stand no. 105/202. Product developer and team rider Reto Lamm and Dani Kiwi Meier will be present as well.

Highlights among the now product innovations are the Pro Model “LSD 164” of Vice World Champion Reto Lamm with a 3D topsheet, which was recently awarded a prize by the “Norway Design Council”, and a completely new concept of super light, limited Longboards for which high tech materials such as carbon, kevlar and aramid fibres have been used.
