What are the three biggest trends you see shaping the market and what are you doing to meet them?

We are seeing a tilt towards simplicity in design, a correct and comfortable helmet fit, and innovations in ventilation. Scott is studying these trends for each target group and coming up with different helmets that cater to this demand.

For the upcoming season, what is your brand doing to differentiate itself?

In addition of the new technologies we developed on normal features (fitting, venting, see below), this year we build on our helmet design family with the SCOTT SCREAM. (ANTI, SCOTT TROUBLE and SCOTT BUSTLE all introduced last season). All those helmets have asymmetric vents and small differences such as the removable goggle retainer.

What new technologies are you introducing to your line?

We have overhauled our fit system in search of a comfortable adjustable fit that provides uniform comfort all around the rider's head. The Micro-R.A.S, which is a dial fit system, equips all our top-selling helmets (Envy, Rove, Roam, Tracker, Chase, Jade).  The SCOTT Hat Lock uses minimal amount of material (similar to a baseball cap) and was developed for our progressive helmets (Anti, Trouble, Bustle).

In the ventilation realm, we introduced the Scott Cool Plug, an innovative and easy inner pad to adjust the airflow inside your helmet.

From your perspective, how concerned are consumers with helmet certifications?

Consumers are more and more aware about safety. They all want to protect their heads, but are probably not well informed about helmet certification.

 What trends do you anticipate in the realm of graphics, themes, and colors?

This year, finishing becomes more important than the theme or graphic itself. The SCOTT development team has spent more time to sourcing new materials and functionality.

What trends have you detected with regards to sale volumes?

Of course, black and white are still the biggest volumes, but solid colors are coming more & more popular.
