Mike Pepperdine, Sitka’s director of sales, gave us a quick rundown on what to expect for their latest swimwear collection.
What trends will we see in next year's line? (colors, cuts, fabrics, etc.)
Next season you'll see more washed fabrics and wire shaping details. You'll see some custom prints and continue to see a mix of one and two piece styles.
What were your greatest successes for 2011?
Designing and producing our first full swim collection was a great success. The styles and fits were well done, which has shown through in the sales numbers.
What are your projections for next season?
We hope to see higher numbers now that customers will be confident in the fit and quality of our suits after trying them for the first time.
What additions are you making for next year? What won't we see as much of?
We've added some more versatile new styles – bottoms that can be worn in multiple ways and tops that could also work out of the water and off the beach.
Where are prices and margins heading for you? (What will your average MSRP and margin percentage be?)
Our prices will continue to be reasonable.
Is the number of SKU's in your line expanding or contracting? Why?
We'll have less SKU's next season to keep the swim line as a tight package with more of the same fabrics across the collection so buyers can mix and match styles in their order.
