The Roxy Pro Fiji 2006 Set To Begin

This year’s Roxy Pro Fiji is set to begin Saturday, April 22nd on the islands of Namotu and Tavarua. Considered to be one of the favorites by the competitors, the top 17 women surfers on the World Championship Tour (WCT) will compete for a $75,800 prize purse, the largest ever for a women’s professional surfing contest.

2005 World Tour Champion, Sofia Mulanovich, has won the last two Roxy Pro Fiji events and is an obvious favorite for this year’s title. Although former 6-time world champ, Layne Beachley, and current WCT champ, Chelsea Georgeson won’t be making it easy for her.
