Surfer Marti Paradisis more than a big-wave prodigy

Tasmanian hellman Marti Paradisis has grown quite famous for his big-wave tow-surf exploits at the treacherous reefs surrounding his home island, most notably Shipstern’s Bluff and Pedra Branca, two of the heaviest big-wave spots on earth. Back in February he took home top honors in “Biggest Wave” at Oakley’s Big Wave Awards in Australia for a beast he snagged at Pedra Branca months prior.

Below are some choice picks from Marti’s 2012 surfing adventures, and aside from the expected heart-pounding craziness, Marti shows us that he’s not just a prodigy behind a tow rope—the guy can surf (relatively) small waves equally well.
