Fuel your day with this green smoothie recipe

There are days when you can chow down on a bagel and call it a good morning, but then there are days when you need a breakfast stacked with energy-boosting, protein-packed, fiber-filled foods.

And on those days, we whip up a smoothie.

But what exactly should we be throwing in our blenders? We turned to fitness and nutrition guru Tiffany Smith of Petite Physique for advice, and she responded by creating a recipe just for GrindTV.

It’s an easy-to-digest combination of superfoods, including a hearty dose of cancer-fighting antioxidants, proteins, energizing healthy fats and plenty of fiber — all essential for maintaining your energy and performing well on high-activity days.

“Whether you’re taking on powerful waves or hiking through the mountains, this smoothie has everything you need to stay energized and full for hours,” says Smith.

“The best part is that it tastes like you’re on a tropical getaway and is incredibly refreshing!”

Power smoothie recipe

4 cups of fresh spinach

1 slice of pineapple

1 packet of Sambazon frozen açai

1 to 1-1/2 cups coconut water or coconut milk

1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon green powder

Throw all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thinner smoothie, add more coconut water one tablespoon at a time. For a thicker smoothie, add ice.
