Though summer is officially under way, there is still time to sign up to snowboard or ski with your favorite pros at Windells Team Take Over camp on Mt. Hood, Oregon, this summer. The camp, which has been operating for 26 years, employs 300 people to help transform today’s skiers and snowboarders into tomorrow’s superstars.
In a unusual twist on coaching, Windells partners with different brands for each camp session. Different pros and amateurs sponsored by a single company attend the camp to hang out with the campers and act as guest coaches along with the regular Windells staff. While there, pros shred with the campers on hill, lead clinics, give pro tips, skate the Concrete Jungle, and lead sponsor night activities at the camp.
“Team Takeovers are a great way for athletes and sponsors to get involved with the kids at camp and make a lasting impression on young snowboarders and skiers,” says Windells Camp marketing coordinator Angela Swain in an interview with GrindTV.com. “Windells campers have a unique opportunity to get to know their favorite athletes as friends and mentors.”
Session two wrapped up this past Sunday, so if you’ve got the time and the cash there are still five weeks of on snow-time left. Limited spots are still available for both the snowboard and ski camps as well as for the skate- and BMX-only camp in August.
Prices for Windells’ snow camps typically run $929 for park access for the day, $1,799 for day camp, and $2,069 for the eight-day overnight camp session. The seven-day skate or BMX and freeride camp that runs during session eight from Aug. 15 to Aug. 21 is only $999 for the overnight camp and $739 for the day camp.
