Shark diving can be really scary even in a cage, ask Josh Groban

So today a great white shark tried to give me a kiss. BEST DAY EVER. #capetown #wow #chum #ohhello #thankyoucage

Diving with sharks within the confines of a steel cage can seem deceptively safe. Just ask American singer Josh Groban.

Currently on a tour in South Africa to promote his latest album Stages, Groban is also seeing all South Africa has to offer: from helicopter rides over the ocean to hanging out with monkeys. Naturally, shark diving was on the activity list.

While in the cage, Groban films a great white shark that grabs a hunk of meat and heads toward the cage. The shark’s head actually gets in between the cage bars for a brief moment, and Groban is virtually nose-to-nose with the great white. Once the shark frees itself Groban squirms to the surface and starts laughing. That will probably be something he never wants to experience again.
